Simon – Business Manager
Simon grew up in Montreal Canada and graduated with Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in education from Concordia University. As business manager at SMPD he oversees patient accounts and can be found handling almost all the non-clinical jobs from sterilization to front desk. Simon loves to spend time with his family. He swim’s with the Maine Masters and enjoys open water races along Maine’s lovely coastline and lakes.
Keelan – Dental Hygienist/ Practice Coordinator
Keelan has worked at Southern Maine Pediatric Dentistry since 2009. She graduated from the University of New England in 2007 and St. Joseph’s College in 2020 with her Master’s Degree. She currently lives in Buxton with her husband, two daughters, dog and cat. Keelan very much enjoys the outdoors whether it be camping, hiking, or fishing. She spends a lot of time with her family and friends and travels whenever possible!
Emily – Dental Hygienist/Clinical Coordinator
Emily started at our office in 2011 as a floater, completing tasks such as cleaning rooms and sterilization. After graduating from the University of New England’s Dental Hygiene program in May of 2012, Emily joined our practice as a dental hygienist! She continued her education and received her Master’s Degree from St. Joseph’s College in 2019. Emily was born and raised in Maine, growing up in Standish and now living in Buxton with her husband, daughter, and dog. For fun, Emily enjoys traveling, boating, x-country skiing, and spending time with her family and friends.
Nikki – Billing and Insurance Coordinator
Nikki joined our office in December of 2020 as a billing and insurance coordinator. Nikki comes to SMPD with 20+ years of OB/Gyn and Dental Office knowledge. She loves figuring out your insurance and billing inquiries. Nikki lives in Windham with her 2 daughters where they love to spend time on the lake. She enjoys traveling to Florida to visit her family and spending time with friends around a bonfire. Nikki likes being outdoors where you will find her boating, swimming, and ice skating. She is excited to have joined Team SMPD and looks forward to her future here working with all of you.
Shelly – Scheduling Coordinator
Shelly started at SMPD as a scheduling coordinator in June of 2019. She comes from 20+ years in the veterinary world as both a Veterinary Technician and CSR. Shelly is very excited to have entered into a new adventure here at the office. When Shelly is not working she enjoys traveling and enjoying the outdoors.
Courtney – Scheduling Coordinator
Courtney joined the team in March 2021. She grew up in Portland, Maine. She served 6 years in the Air Force and was stationed in Arizona. You will see Courtney at check-out answering phones, scheduling patients, and helping wherever needed. In her spare time, she like spending time with family, playing with her poodle, Winston, and checking out new restaurants.
Emily – Scheduling Coordinator
Emily joined SMPD in July of 2024. She was born and raised in New Hampshire but moved to Portland to attend the University of Southern Maine, where she graduated with a degree in Environmental Policy and Planning. In her free time Emily loves spending time outdoors, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her cat.
Katie – Scheduling Coordinator
Katie joined our team in September of 2023. She graduated from the University of Southern Maine in 2020 with a degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences and a concentration in early childhood education. Katie comes from a background of teaching special education and preschool but is excited for the new adventures here at SMPD. She currently resides in Windham with her boyfriend, Brady. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends/family, hiking, and reading a good book.
Tara – Dental Assistant, CDA
Tara joined SMPD in January of 2018. She attended Worcester Technical Institute where she received her certification in dental assisting. Tara has been working in pediatric dentistry for over 18 years. She recently moved to Maine for a more simpler life after living in Boston for several years. In her spare she loves practicing and teaching the art of yoga. She also loves running, traveling, and the outdoors.
Blake – Dental Assistant, CDA, EFDA
Blake joined the SMPD team in January of 2019. She attended Dental Career Institute gaining her Certification as a Dental Assistant. When she isn’t you can find her on the basketball court. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Dudley. She also likes to snowboard and explore the outdoors.
Jama – Dental Assistant

Jama joined SMPD in December of 2023. She has been a dental assistant for 6 years prior to joining our team. Jama lives in Limington with her boyfriend and two daughters. In her free time she loves being outside and spending time with her family.
Mikaela – Dental Hygienist
Mikaela began at our office in 2013 as our sterilization tech/floater and has been a full-time hygienist since 2016. She graduated from UNE in 2011 and from UMA in 2012, finishing with her Bachelor’s Degree. Mikaela grew up in Millinocket, Maine and now resides in Windham with her husband, their two children and their two pups. She enjoys quality time with family and friends, traveling, watching sports, and adventuring outdoors!
Brittani – Dental Hygienist
Brittani graduated from the University of New England in 2016 where she acquired her Bachelors of Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She was born and raised in Maine, growing up in the downeast area and now residing in Gray. She is passionate about making your child’s visit to the dentist a positive experience! She loves spending time with her family and friends, playing tennis, and exploring the outdoors hiking, biking, and kayaking!
Madeline – Dental Hygienist
Madeline graduated from the University of Maine Augusta in 2018 where she received her Associate of Applied Science degree in Dental Hygiene. She was born and raised in Aroostook County but has made Southern Maine her home since 2018. Madeline currently resides in Brunswick with her boyfriend, Jared, and their mini goldendoodle, Winston! In her free time you can find her teaching Pure Barre classes, cozied up with a new book, or traveling up I-95 to visit family!
Jill – Dental Hygienist
Jill graduated from The University of South Carolina in 2014 with a Public Health degree. She continued her education in Massachusetts and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Dental Hygiene at MCPHS. Jill has been working in pediatric dentistry for over 8 years. She grew up in Maine and now lives in Portland with her Husband and daughter. On the weekends you can find her on the lake with her family or curled up with a blanket getting lost in a book.
Emily – Dental Hygienist
Emily joined our office in July of 2023 with 7 years of pediatric dental hygiene experience. She graduated from University of New England in 2015 with her bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. She grew up in southern Maine and now lives in Wells with her husband and two daughters. She loves to spend her free time with her family, traveling and watching the Bruins.
Caitlin- Dental Hygienist
Caitlin graduated from the University of New England in 2014 where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene. She was born, raised and still resides in Maine. In her spare time you can find her cooking, baking or traveling! She is excited to have recently joined the SMPD team and looks forward to making your child’s dental experience educational, positive and fun!
